Oats
Oats were the last of the major cereal grains to be domesticated around 3000 years ago in Europe and were considered a "humble" grain, as they originated as weeds that grew within cultivated fields of other crops.. Owing to their poor physical appearance Romans and Greeks considered oats to be a rather "Barbarian food" and therefore decided they were not worthy to grace their dining tables. It wasn't until the health benefits of oats were discovered that they eventually found their way into the culinary realm that we know today.
Good for Controlling Cholesterol
Oats contain a soluble fibre called Beta-Glucan which has been proven to help lower cholesterol (as part of a healthy lifestyle and diet low in saturated fat). In turn lowering cholesterol reduces the risk of heart disease. You should have 3g of Beta-Glucan per day in order to help lower cholesterol, and a product needs to have at least 1g of Beta-Glucan to be able to claim that it helps towards this. You can find 1g of Beta Glucan in just 130g of MOMA - and our standard 235g pot has over half your recommended daily intake.
Great Source of Wholegrain
Wholegrains are a great source of fibre. MOMA is crammed with wholegrain with our standard pot containing the equivalent of 3 wholegrain servings.
