Warm up with MOMA

Winter is coming! Although the official start date rolls around on December 21st, we’re already all about the wooly jumpers, thick-knit scarves and Christmas songs here at MOMA. Get prepared for the festive season with our recipe book of winter warmers.

Have things gotten all chilly where you are? You know it’s time for a winter warmer when leaving your warm toasty bed in the morning feels like an impossible idea. Just five more minutes, right? Well, we’ve got you covered. Read on to get the lowdown on all the tasty, warm treats you can rustle up to lure yourself out of bed in the morning. Apple and Cinnamon Pie Porridge This may just be the ultimate warmer, perfect for our hungry heroes looking for a comforting bowl of goodness. This tasty treat will have you thinking of a slice of apple pie, but unlike the dessert, this oatie bowl will give you the fuel you need to face the cold morning! Ingredients (serves 1)
  • MOMA Plain (No Added Sugar) Porridge
  • 1tsp cinnamon powder
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 granny smith apple
  • A handful of walnuts or almonds
Method; Cut your apple into small chunks and pop in a pan along with the cinnamon and ginger. Gently cook on a low heat until softened but still slightly firm. Whilst the apples are cooking prepare the porridge according to pack instructions. Once both are ready pour them together into a serving dish and enjoy.
Apple and cinnamon oats
Sweet Potato and Pumpkin Porridge Both savoury and sweet, this one is a real treat. These veggies are high in vitamins and fibre, which is a match made in heaven when combined with the trusty goodness of our oats. Ingredients (serves 1)
  • MOMA Plain (No Added Sugar) Porridge
  • Handful of chopped sweet potato
  • Handful of chopped pumpkin
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tbsp cinnamon
  • Olive oil
Method; Drizzle the sweet potato and pumpkin with olive oil and roast together in the oven until cooked. Make MOMA oats to directions on pack. Mash the sweet potato and pumpkin together.
