Have Yourself An Oatie Christmas!

Christmas is a magical time. With all sorts of tasty food, presents and good times ahead, make sure that you have the energy you need to enjoy it all. Take a look at our Christmas themed oatie recipes that will keep you energised through the festive season.

From arguing over who gets to put the star on the top of the tree, to getting all teary eyed over a Christmas advert, the nation is collectively embracing all things Christmas. From little gingerbread men to mince pies, Christmas is the perfect time to treat yourself to something tasty. Why not start by bringing the festive cheer to the breakfast table and trying one of our top three Christmas oatie recipes below and start your Christmas day awesome!

Christmas oats

Rudolph’s Morning Porridge (serves 1)

Ingredients:

  • MOMA Plain (No Added Sugar) Porridge
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 banana
  • ½ an apple
  • 15g dried cranberries
  • A dollop of natural or greek yoghurt
  • 1 MOMA plain no added sugar sachet
  • 1 cherry

Method:

Slice the apple and banana, then prepare your MOMA porridge to the directions on pack. Top with the apple, banana and cranberries, drizzle with honey and finish with creme fraiche to serve. Place a cherry on top to give rudolph’s red nose.

Spiced Apple and Cranberry (serves 1)

Ingredients:

  • MOMA Plain (No Added Sugar) Porridge
  • ½ an apple  
  • A small handfull of dried cranberries
  • ½ tsp mixed spices
  • ½ tsp brown sugar

Method:

Dice the apple and place it in a pan with a splash of water and cook until they start to soften, then add the cranberries, mixed spice and sugar. Allow this to cook until it’s a pot of saucy goodness. Prepare your MOMA porridge sachet following the directions on pack. Mix in the apple sauce and serve.

Festive Oat Bowl (serves 1)

Ingredients:

  • MOMA Plain (No Added Sugar) Porridge
  • 30g Raisins
  • 15g Sultanas
  • 15g Currants
  • ¼ lemon juice
  • ¼ orange juice
  • ½ tsp mixed spice
  • Handful of almonds

Method:

Add raisins, sultanas and currants to a pan. Add in lemon and orange juice along with the mixed spice, and cook until the fruit is warmed through. Prepare your MOMA porridge sachet following the directions on pack. Pour the fruit over the porridge and sprinkle with almonds and serve.
