If you’re looking to take on a healthier lifestyle in 2016, we want to encourage all you awesome oat lovers to see it through! We want to help you make 2016 as oat-tastic as the last, so take a look at our tips below on making your New Year a healthy one!
Start as you mean to go on
In order to be healthy you need to eat well and exercise…but that’s easier said than done. One of the first steps to eating healthily is to make sure you never skip a meal. Many people skip breakfast as a way of cutting calories, whereas others simply don’t have the time. But breakfast is a big deal! You need to start the day with a balanced breakfast so that your body functions properly…it’s the only way to start your day awesome!
Get some oat power
It’s no lie that oats are super good for you. If you want to learn about the secret power of oats, take a look at this fact filled post we recently shared. As well as providing slow release energy to help you beat the mid-morning slump, the humble oat is a great source of magnesium and beta-glucans. These clever little things help to regulate your blood sugar and insulin levels, without this our bodies would produce and store fat. So, by eating oats we can encourage our bodies to stay slim, fit, and healthy!
Use your energy
But aside from these scrummy oats and healthy eating, it’s important to stay active. In order to maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle, you need to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. We’re not talking about heavy weight lifting or 10 mile runs (unless you want to of course!) just small workouts that fit into your schedule. Even small changes like taking the stairs instead of getting the lift can make a big difference. Our advice is to stay positive and use some of that oatie energy to not give up!
It’s a challenge to stay healthy, so don’t beat yourself up if it takes time to get into the zone. If you’re really struggling, don’t give up! Take the time to find a routine that works for you. Be sure to kick start your day with some MOM to keep you fuelled AND put a big oatie smile on your face!
